EICRs
EICR testing and electrical safety reports for homes, landlords and businesses in Nottingham.
What is an EICR?
An Electrical Installation Condition Report (EICR) is a detailed safety check of a property’s fixed electrics, including the wiring, sockets, consumer unit and protective devices. It shows whether the installation is safe to continue using and highlights anything that needs attention.
What happens during the inspection?
-
Accessible wiring, sockets, switches and the consumer unit are inspected.
-
Circuits and safety devices are tested using specialist equipment.
-
Any problems are recorded and given a clear priority rating.
-
You receive a written report explaining the results and next steps.
When might you need one?
An EICR is commonly requested by landlords, homeowners, buyers and businesses. It may be sensible when a property is being rented or sold, the electrics are old, alterations have been made, or you simply want reassurance about electrical safety.
What can you expect?
We explain the findings in plain English and answer your questions before discussing any remedial work. Repairs are quoted separately. Testing is carried out to the current requirements of BS 7671, and the completed report is provided after the inspection.
