What is an EV charge point?

A dedicated charge point is a safer and more convenient way to charge an electric vehicle than relying on a standard household socket. It is designed for regular vehicle charging and can be positioned to suit your parking space and daily routine.

 

How is the installation planned?

• We check the electrical supply, consumer unit and available capacity.

• The parking position and a practical cable route are agreed with you.

• We discuss a suitable charger and the protection required for the installation.

• The completed circuit and charge point are tested before handover.

 

When might you need one?

You may need a charger after buying an electric vehicle, moving home, adding a second EV or providing charging for staff or visitors. We can also assess an existing arrangement that is slow, inconvenient or no longer suitable.

 

What can you expect?

We explain the installation route and any disruption before work starts. The charger, cabling and protective equipment are installed neatly, then tested and demonstrated. Electrical work is completed to BS 7671 requirements, with certification provided where applicable.
